Cercis canadensis (Eastern Redbud) 25'-35'H-high x 25'-35'-wide (round to umbrella shaped canopy) deciduous medium to light green, gold leaves rose to magenta to pink flowers brown, purple or mostly green pods (Summer-Winter) origin: eastern U.S. to eastern Mexico (not invasive) medium water use clay to loamy to sandy soil with average to fast drainage no soil amendment (per pH 4.0–10.0) litter maintenance: medium-low/dry fruit low flammability medium branch strength pruning maintenance: medium (mostly per thinning) allergenicity: medium plant at least 2.5 feet from masonry local Sunset Zones 18-24
